Lakes, Waterfalls
and Swimming Pools

Crystal clear lakes, seaside resorts close to nature, imposing waterfalls and the river Loisach, plus indoor pools with a varied offer and boating on the Heiterwanger See: the element of water is in all its facets in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, especially in summer for optimal relaxation .

Lakes

Heiterwanger See

The Heiterwanger See is located right next to the start of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, in the municipality of Heiterwang am See. Together with the Plansee, this lake forms the second largest body of water in Tyrol. The Plansee belongs to the municipality of Reutte and is connected to the Heiterwanger See by a 300-metre long canal.

blindsee

Below the Fernpass and in the middle of a wooded mountain landscape, the Blindsee is well hidden at first glance. But it is precisely this location with impressive panoramic views that attracts many guests to this mountain lake in summer. In addition, the Blindsee is also an insider tip for divers: because you can see up to 30 meters underwater, mysterious buildings made of logs that have been resting in the lake for a long time reveal themselves there.

Seebensee

The Seebensee is known as one of the most beautiful lakes in Tyrol and attracts nature lovers at an altitude of 1675 metres. This fairytale mountain lake is located above the Ehrwalder Alm in the Mieminger mountain range and is also very popular with hikers and cyclists. A natural gem with turquoise-blue water in a picturesque location between the imposing mountains – what more could you want?

Igelsee

Above the Ehrwalder Alm and at the foot of the Igelkopf, mountain sports enthusiasts will find a small but fine mountain lake at an altitude of 1585 meters, in the middle of meadows. Depending on the weather and water level, the Igelsee is visible on the way to Leutasch/Gaistal and from the Ehrwalder Alm on the route to the Seebensee.

Swimming pools

Panorama bath Lermoos

we start with our personal favourite, the panoramic bath in Lermoos!

The name does not lie because the view is really beautiful!
In addition to the beautiful view, the panorama pool also has the coolest slide in all of Tyrol (in our opinion)

Waterfalls

From our village Bichlbach a beautiful hike starts that leads you to a waterfall

Bichlbach - Rundwanderung Auer Wasserfall

Berwang - Rotlech-Wasserfall

Ehrwald - Wassererlebnisweg Zugspitzi am Gaisbach

To dive

plansee
The drinking water pure  Plansee   offers good visibility all year round - especially in winter (ice diving!). At the bottom of the second largest lake in Tyrol, you will find an old wooden carriage, a wooden hay wagon and a wooden sled, which was used to transport wood. Also special is the large population of the rare freshwater crayfish, which was introduced here eighty years ago.

Urisee
De  Urisee  is divided into two funnel-shaped basins, separated in the middle of the lake by a 'threshold'. Known as the 'Uri Falls', this section rises to a depth of six meters. The water level has risen sharply in recent years. While diving you can still see the remains of the riverbank defenses from the past. The numerous swan mussels, which are already rare elsewhere, testify to the high quality of the water.
